Philadelphia police officers squared off against the Bravest & Finest of the East, with the winner capturing the Gerry Pellegrini Heroes Cup. Pellegrini was a 26th Police District officer and National Guard member who was killed in the Iraq war in 2005. He was an amateur boxer who made his pro debut at the Blue Horizon before being deployed.

All the fighters gather in the ring before the May 2 boxing event at the FOP.

Proceeds from tickets and the sale of food, drinks and T-shirts will go to various charities, including the FOP survivors fund, the firefighters union widows fund and autism research. ••
